Stress release
During difficult times, stress may feel overwhelming. Pandemic is one of those situations. I would like to share with my patients that feeling anxious and stressed out at this time is natural. Focusing on positive thoughts, distracting yourself from news, social media disturbing stories will help to stay calm and in control. Get facts from trusted sources National and Local, that are reliable and updated regularly. Many primary clinic offices, including my office at Iora Primary care work virtually, serving patients with telemedicine advice and medications refills. Few tips:
Get information only from trusted sources and avoid assumptions.Schedule distractions: be on the sun for few minutes, go for a walk of jog, cook the dish you never had time to cook, read thriller that takes your breath away, listen to the music or meditate. Few minutes of simple poses of Yoga ( even if you never done that) can improve your mood and reduce anxiety as well as Progressive Muscular Relaxation. Find a way to maintain mild-to-moderate activity preferably outside. Relaxation Breathing is great tool for anxiety relief. Eat healthy: my favorite is anti-inflammatory diet especially for stress relief.
